MICRO NEEDLING
Rejuvenate your skin with micro needling
"If you know me you know! This is my favourite treatment. It's a game changer for skin if done right. I treat all skin types, all ages. The younger you start the better. The nutrients you use is just as important as the technique.
What is micro-needling
Micro-needling is the creation of micro-punctures via controlled injury to the skin without damaging the epidermis. A minimal superficial bleeding (not always necessary, depends on treatment plan)
is the start of a rapid wound healing phase with the release of various growth factors and
connective tissue activity.
The controlled trauma to the skin can stimulate fibroblast cells, that contribute to formation of cells. Your fibroblasts secrete collagen proteins and maintain structural framework of tissue, they heal wounds.
Through micro-needling we achieve Collagen type three to maintain elasticity and firmness of skin tissue.
Benefits of micro-needling?
Micro-needling is the best way to stimulate your fibroblasts and improve thickness of your skin.
Your skin will feel tighter, improve skin texture, hyperpigmentation, acne scares, treat acne, fine lines,
wrinkles, dehydration, and repair your skin barrier. Micro-needling will also help prevent TEWL.
Trans Epidermal Water Loss- the amount of water you loose, the evaporation of water through
the epidermis, the top layer of your ski). TEWL starts at the dermis and evaporates through the epidermis.
Micro-needling can help stimulate the cells in dermis to reduce TEWL.
Side-effects of Micro-needlin
Side effects are minimal if treatment is carried out by an experienced practitioner.
Short term redness, swelling, and skin flaking are possible side effects.
Side effects should reduce within a few days depending on the depth of the treatment.
How many sessions of micro-needling do I need for best results?
You should see a result after your first treatment. Results will vary depending on the condition of your skin,
lifestyle and what the treatment goal is.
Is micro-needling a suitable treatment for hyper-pigmentation?
Micro-needling is a great hyper-pigmentation and melasma treatment. It breaks up the pigment below the surface.
Controlled use of correct nutrients during treatment is a rapid way of improving skin texture and patches of dark spots,
acne scarring and melasma. Clinical studies show it's a safe treatment for all skin types.
At what age can I start micro-needling?
Under the guidance of an experienced practitioner you can start at 18.
Do you recommend at home micro-needling?
The problem with at home devices is lack of control by clients on its usage, and equipment that is not sterile.
Don't over do micro-needling at home. You need to use the correct nutrients and to protect your epidermis to reduce inflammation and damage to your acid-mantle.
So yes, we all know the sucky fact that our skin ages. The main reason for this is the reduction in fibroblast cells, which are building blocks of collagen proteins that help keep our cells strong and connected. Aging results in wrinkles and sagging, which makes our skin appear very dull — but there is a way to combat this process through micro needling.
So although we hope to age as gracefully as possible, using Micro needling, also known as collagen induction therapy -a safe and chemical-free method, we can trigger new collagen production. {Yay}
What is micro needling?
Micro needling therapy is a simple procedure that uses a hand-controlled device with tiny, shallow needles to puncture your outer layer of skin to create a controlled skin injury. This damage to the skin stimulates your body to produce new collagen and elastin. The freshly produced collagen will rejuvenate your skin by improving your skins color and tone. A couple treatments over a couple months induces an overall improvement in the texture and tightness of your skin by softening wrinkles, scars and stretch marks.
As we age, instead of consistently losing collagen, we can promote our own natural collagen production.
Additionally, micro needling is not restricted to the face. It can be used on many other body parts, such as arms, legs, neck, back, hands and abdomen.
One micro needling session generally takes 30 minutes. At first, your skin will appear a little bit red — similar to a light windburn, but your skin will return to normal in a couple of days. The natural growth of collagen will not happen instantly; it takes place over weeks and months. This treatment is not designed to be an “instant fix,” but is intended to improve the health of your skin in the long term.
How many numbers of treatments does one need?
The number of treatments is predicated on two things: the first being the results you want to achieve, and the second being which part of the body treatment is being performed on. For facial fine lines, pigmentation and skin texture, you will notice an improvement in the weeks following your first session.
Having a treatment every month for 3 month is optimal for glow induction.
For stretch marks or acne scars, depending on the severity, you may need 4 to 8 micro needling treatments to achieve optimal results.
Please note that all treatments are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart to ensure the health and safety of your skin. The risk involved in micro needling treatments are minimal. After a treatment, dry skin or red discoloration may occur, which will typically subside within a week.
What skin conditions can be treated with micro needling?

Regardless of your skin color or type is, micro needling is the best treatment you can have to have to make your skin look fresh and younger.

ADDITIONAL MICRO NEEDLING AFTERCARE TIPS:
No exercise for twenty-four to forty-eight hours, no steam room, no sauna, no one can lick your face (especially a dog!). You’ve opened up microchannels, so don’t touch your face; just keep it really lubricated. Stay away from alcohol, because your skin is really dehydrated. Taking GOOPGLOW Morning Skin Superpowder or Liposomal Vitamin C afterward would be nice—I would actually pair those.
Do not use any “active” skin care products during the following week, the CE serum is OK, but no retinol or exfoliating products.
Avoid any products with chemicals, ensure you sunscreen is mineral based.
Avoid using any kind of powered cleansing brushes during the following week.
Avoid sunbathing forever {Kidding:} but no direct sun exposure/surfing for one week post procedure. And the couple of weeks following extra precaution in the sun with hat and sun screen.
Tanning beds should never be used EVER!
No swimming for up to 48 hours.
Do not work out for the first 24 hours after the treatment as sweating can lead to adverse reactions in the treated areas of your skin.
