PRF Rejuvenation Pre And POst Care
Pre-treatment Instructions & Expectations
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) therapy, also known as the ‘Vampire Facial", works with the body’s own natural power to strengthen the dermis. We tap into our revolutionary repair system that places growth factors in the exact location where we want the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself.
Platelets contain a high content of “growth factors” – proteins that help to heal injured tissue or damaged skin. Upon re-injection the platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to proliferate, in turn stimulating repair, increasing volume and rejuvenating the skin.
To make the most out of your upcoming PRF treatment, please follow my pre-treatment instructions.
Please avoid
Any topical hydroquinone, retinol, or exfoliating acids used within the last week.
Alcohol beverages within 72 hours of treatment
Anticoagulants or NSAIDS (ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxen, etc.) taken within at least 1 week prior to treatment (blood thinners extend bruising severity & time and will also lead to subpar treatment outcomes). The longer you can avoid taking these medications, the better!
Significant event (i.e. wedding, photo shoot) within two weeks after treatment as it can take up to 2 weeks for redness, dryness, or bruising to subside.
Pre-Treatment Instructions:
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink at least 64 oz of water and eat a good snack before coming to prepare for the blood draw.
Avoid Omega 3s, Turmeric, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic Supplements for 7 days prior.
In preparation to aid the healing process I recommend taking a Liposomal vitamin c along with a collagen supplement and a Silica Supplement. These work synergistically to enhance the skin’s resilience.
I also recommend a medical grade skincare regime to optimize benefits of the treatment. Skincare containing stemcells are a great adjunct to your healing process.
In the case of Microneedling —you’re skin will feel dry during the healing process. We have post procedure creams which I highly recommend investing in.
In the case of PRF injections you will have some redness where the PRF was injected and swelling that will go down over the next 3 to 5 days.
Please come to your treatment with no make-up or skincare on.
Treatment Expectations
MicroNeedling
Immediately after you will be red and flushed, similar to a sunburn. This is expected and should resolve in 3-5 days.
Your skin may be swollen, dry, and tight, with slight sloughing. This is normal and should resolve within 3-7days.
This treatment usually requires a series to see best results and can be repeated every 4 weeks.
PRF Eye RejUvenation
Redness and swelling where the PRF was injected. The redness will resolve within 24 hours. The swelling will take 3 to 5 days to resolve.
Sleeping with a little elevation can help. But do expect the eyes to have a swollen look for 3 to 5 days. This is the process of the fibrin clot that is providing that skins rejuvenation. All swelling will completely resolve.
There is always the risk of bruising so be prepared. I do use a cannula and do my best to reduce all the risks of the possibility of a bruise.
